What an inspiring evening at Fondry Collective with @munchielunchieproductions and @hfehmind , centering on women’s mental health. The night featured Health is a Privilege, a powerful short film by @simonetta.gibej exploring pain and hidden struggles of working with chronic illness. A raw and moving piece that shines a light on invisible struggles and the human stories we often miss.

I was proud to exhibit my own work there and to support Simonetta in her mission to bring this story to a wider audience. They’re currently raising funds to help produce and promote the play, making sure it reaches all those who need to hear it.

Today’s studio was… the roof 🎨🌞

Even though I have a garden, sometimes it just takes so long to bring all the materials down the stairs, set up, maybe it gets windy and I need to bring everything up again

So I looked at the flat roof just outside my studio and thought… why not paint up here?

It was actually kind of magical. A little rooftop sanctuary, bathed in sunlight (and yes… I did need a hat because I was boiling 🥵👒). But truly why wouldn’t we take full advantage of the rare London sun while it’s here?

A golden wall, and everything it held 🦢⚱️

The first thing I observed as I entered Teal Swan’s workshop in Bucharest was the backdrop ~ a wall of gold and shadow, textured like ancient ruins, yet crafted with intention. A strong symbol before the day even began.

Our first exercise was simple but powerful: move through the space while radiating positive energy, letting it ripple through each other and the room.
As I approached the golden wall moving through the room, I noticed the colours beneath and the gold foil above : this workshop was about embracing everything. The darkness, the deep burgundy colours, the grief, the joy. And the gold hidden in between it all.

We were invited to ask questions, and through her spiritual guidance, Teal chose the ones that echoed the room’s collective consciousness. Not everyone spoke, but each answer felt like it belonged to all of us. From the yearning to shine to the aching grief of loss, it was all part of us all. An echo. A mirror within. 🪞

Though there was a London workshop, I chose to return to my roots, Romania, my motherland. I knew embracing her calling to come to my country would also have a deep impact on me.

Teal opened the space by acknowledging the country’s energy: its pain, silence, its lack of colour. Yet she closed the workshop with something interesting ~ calling us “hungry”
A beautiful, relentless hunger for meaning, growth, connection, truth…
And perhaps, that hunger is our gift. ✨

If we stop running from the past and learn to feel it, if we dare to carry both shadow and gold, we become something softer. Kinder. Not a reflection of what’s been, but a light in the path to come. ✨

As the workshop ended, a double rainbow appeared. A reflection of all the healing, colour, and tenderness poured into that space. As if the universe whispered: This is what happens when we choose to feel all colours of life🌈

After, I met so many talented and passionate people I’m still deeply grateful to know.
What stayed wasn’t just Teal’s wisdom, but the warmth of real connection.

In the little moments between the sun and stillness, between wildflowers and animal calls, between the joy of family and the silence of nature, I have was met with a deeper mirror.

These past two weeks in Romania, my home country, have been filled with beauty, connection, and warmth, but within all of it, I felt a quiet, heavy invitation. An invitation to see myself in the layers beneath the surface. To slow down enough to witness the stories my ego still tells, the patterns passed down like wine poured from one generation to the next that I still heavily drink with each meal and choice.

I stood in front of my own reflection not the one in the sun, but the one at the bottom of the sea. I saw where judgment still lived. Where resentment still whispered. Where old choices begged to be repeated. Where no amount of inner work could change the hard moments where pain or anger was deeply rooted in my body.

This time in my motherland has been such a gift, not only because I got to feel close to my roots and the people I love, but because I was given the space to truly see. To witness how much of myself lives in everything and everyone around me. And to choose, consciously, again. Or in many moments see where my ego choose much quicker than the person I hope to be. In the moments where you are faced with the truth of how fragile like really is. In the fragile moments where pain or suffering becomes stronger than love and gratitude.

What a gift to experience all parts of life 💗

Recently I started blending the nude form into my art, letting my intuitive organic style meet the rawness of the human body. What’s interesting is how quickly nudity is connected to sexuality,vulgarness and crude as if sexuality automatically cheapens the message or person.

Yes, sexuality and everything that comes with the female body lives within this piece. But what I’m exploring goes deeper than just the surface of the skin. It’s about self-understanding. About how I see the female body, my own body. About the tension between modesty and openness. About how we express ourselves, and how others perceive us.

As the painting evolves, so does its message but in all this I’m not covering her to make her more modest, I’m blending her into the art so she becomes art itself. The brushstrokes wrap around her like whispers of energy, not censorship.

This piece is an inquiry into duality: modesty and boldness, repression and expression, softness and rawness. It’s a reminder that we all hold multitudes. Maybe, like a puzzle, life is just a game we get to play.

Last summer I went through one of the hardest chapters of my life, a time filled with stress, health struggles, and deep personal reflection.
Through a series of dietary issues and overwhelming moments, I ended up with a kidney infection, lost 10kg in about one month. Somehow through all this I was getting compliments for my weight as if losing weight is always good.
It’s funny because for such a long time I was hoping and saying which diet of exercise routine can make me lose weight and feel better but in the process of that I realised I was just idolising a weight and version of myself ‘if only I get to this weight then I will be happy’.

It is strange because I finally had the body I thought would make me feel worthy, and yet I was still unhappy. If anything I couldn’t recognise myself in the mirror and felt even worse.
Coming back to this painting almost a year later, I can see so clearly how unhealthy my relationship with my body and self-worth had been.

Now I am grateful for everything this journey has and is still teaching me , for the resilience, the healing, and the love I am learning to give myself
This is also part of a new series I am starting, painting while talking
It is a little raw, a little imperfect, with pauses and cuts as I pause into painting , but I hope that is part of its beauty.
Vulnerable conversations, real moments, and the art that rises from them.

Through a series of dietary issues and overwhelming moments, I ended up with a kidney infection, lost 10kg in about one month. Somehow through all this I was getting compliments for my weight as if losing weight is always good.
It’s funny because for such a long time I was hoping and saying which diet of exercise routine can make me lose weight and feel better but in the process of that I realised I was just idolising a weight and version of myself ‘if only I get to this weight then I will be happy’.

It is strange because I finally had the body I thought would make me feel worthy, and yet I was still unhappy. If anything I couldn’t recognise myself in the mirror and felt even worse.
Coming back to this painting almost a year later, I can see so clearly how unhealthy my relationship with my body and self-worth had been.

Now I am grateful for everything this journey has and is still teaching me , for the resilience, the healing, and the love I am learning to give myself
This is also part of a new series I am starting, painting while talking
It is a little raw, a little imperfect, with pauses and cuts as I pause into painting , but I hope that is part of its beauty.

I was taught to see sexuality and sensuality as something dangerous.
Something sinful. Something shameful.
To be hidden as I step out the door as if it can only exist in silence, in secrecy.

But what if it’s actually sacred?
What if it’s not something to hide but to embrace? To cherish rather than objectify?
Isn’t it an energy, after all? A state of being, rather than just the way you dress or act?

Yet it’s been reduced, again and again, to a woman’s sexuality either being objectified or silenced.

Through this painting, I’m exploring the thin, complex line between what’s seen as “too much” and what is deeply powerful.
Not just conditionally acceptable, but truly beautiful, cherished, necessary, and transformative.

The feminine body, the feminine energy, is not here for exploitation or fleeting pleasure.
It’s here to be felt. Respected. Embodied. And honoured.

This piece is still unfolding, and so am I.
Each layer I paint reveals more about womanhood, about the parts of ourselves we were told to suppress.
With every brushstroke, I let go of those beliefs.

This painting took me by surprise. The silver foil wasn’t planned—initially I planned to make the centre as an eye hence the shape but I intuitively thought the silver would really be enhanced by the black and white palette and OMG!
The way it catches the light, the contrast between the darkness and the shine… it’s a depth I never expected, and I’m so grateful for how it came to life.

Timeless Petals in Oil 🌹🎨
I started this painting by asking myself: Why the rose? Why is it the ultimate symbol of love, appearing everywhere as soon as Valentine’s Day approaches?

As I painted, I explored its symbolism—the elegance, the beauty, the strength… because a rose blooms in its own time, standing tall and radiant, yet it also carries thorns, a reminder of boundaries and resilience. Giving a rose isn’t just a gesture of love; it’s an intention, a moment frozen in time, a message that lingers even after the petals fade.

Funnily enough, this was one of the first times I used a reference photo, and at one point, I complained to my mum that the rose was coming out too realistic—I struggled to let it become more abstract!

Before I pick up my brush, I ask myself three key questions:

1️⃣ What is my dominant colour for this painting?
– Every painting has a main colour family that sets the tone—at least in my style. Choosing this first keeps the palette intentional and ensures all the colours work together harmoniously. If I’m painting a red-based piece, for example, I’ll centre my choices around different variations of red and select colours that create contrast and highlights, rather than reaching for unnecessary ones.

2️⃣ Do I need both warm and cool tones?
– Colours aren’t just “red” or “blue”—they have temperature. A warm red (like Cadmium Red, similar to a strawberry) creates vibrancy and energy, while a cool red (like Alizarin Crimson, similar to a cherry) adds depth and subtlety. Using both helps create contrast, volume, and movement within the painting.

3️⃣ What neutraliser will help control intensity?
– Instead of dulling a colour with black or white, I use the colour wheel. Every colour has a complementary colour—its opposite on the wheel—that naturally neutralises it. For example, a touch of green in a red painting softens the intensity while keeping the harmony intact. This keeps the painting balanced and prevents it from feeling overly saturated.

For now, this piece has no poem to accompany it—only its name: Into the Void. Perhaps the outcome speaks enough for itself -A journey of surrender, a reminder that darkness is not infinite. There is always something waiting at the end if you trust the process.

Originally inspired by the mystical black dragon, a symbol of cutting away what no longer serves you and taking bold, necessary action. As I created this, I followed my intuition and I’m so, so glad I did—the silver foil at the centre transformed this from a painting into something more… a portal to whatever your soul desires. 🌌✨

2024, what a year! 🎉✨

Graduating, having my first exhibition, working on commissions, and teaching so many amazing students—it’s been a journey of growth, learning, and creativity. I’ve really chiselled my craft and poetry, and I’m beyond grateful for all the opportunities this year brought.

Graduating, having my first exhibition, working on commissions, and teaching so many amazing students—it’s been a journey of growth, learning, and creativity. I’ve really chiselled my craft and poetry, and I’m beyond grateful for all the opportunities this year brought.
